Our Goal

The Purdue University Human Powered Helicopter (PUHPH) project was organized to solve one of the engineering's most interesting problems : the creation of a human powered helicopter capable of meeting the requirements of the Sikorsky Prize. These requirements include:

  • Powered 100% by human power, with no power storage devices.
  • Altitude: 3 m
  • Duration: 1 min.
  • Control: Ref. point within a 10 m square.
